I found this on ancestry.com. I have no idea if this is related to the William Bratcher I have attached it to, but I am keeping here so I don't lose it:
During the May 1812 term of the Claiborne, TN court, a woman named Nancy Parrot filed for child support from Canada Bratcher and William Norvell, who had agreed to stand as security for William Bratcher, who Miss Parrot claimed was the father "of a bastard child." The child's name is not given, nor do I have any information on how the case was settled.
