Russell Taft Shain, 76, Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Saturday morning, September 14, 1985 at his home. / Mr. Shain was born February 13, 1909, a son of Mary Palestine Sirles and Ed. Thomas Shain, Pine Knob. He was a retiree of Ford Motor Company and a member of the First Baptist Church of Charlestown. His wife, Helen Green Shain, survives. / Other survivors include a son Edwin T. Shain, Charlestown, Joetta Shain, Charlestown; and Mary Shain, Charlestown; and Mary Shain Clark, Bardstown; four sisters, Artie Keith of Oregon, Ora Duggins of Kokomo, Indiana, Rhea Tinkle and Hildred Helton of Louisville. Four grandchildren also survive. / Funeral services were September 17 at the First Baptist Church of Charlestown with burial in the Charlestown Cemetery.
