LEITCHFIELD - Sanders, Edgar Jr., 83, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at his home.
He was born on January 15, 1929, in Grayson CO., Kentucky, the son of the late Edgar and Dona Vincent Sanders.
He was an avid golfer, a pilot, a Navy Veteran and was retired after 30 years at American Air Filter. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Zephyrhills, Florida.
He is survived by wife, Carol Milam Sanders; his daughter, Lila Kleis (Edward); two grandsons, Justin and Kevin Kleis (Tracy); two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Kleis; two sisters, Judy Dermitt and Mary Ellen Higdon; and five brothers, Charles, Billy, Bobby, Irvin and Ronny Sanders.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Annie Sanders; and six siblings, Pauline, Erma Jean, Johnny and Russell Sanders, Virginia Arlene Stone, and Emma Lou Jaggers.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. CST Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Vincent cemetery in Edmonson County, KY. Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. CDT on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Vincent Cemetery or the Duff Cemetery.
