MARRIAGE NOTES: It appears that the Marriage Certificate regarding Buford and Martha is in correct in that it states that Martha was only 16 when she married Buford. Martha's Death Certificate and tombstone both state that she was born in 1833. Moreover, she appears as a 17 year old daughter of Edward and Sarah Lucas in the 1850 US Census for Breckinridge County, KY. That census would indicate that she was born ABT 1833.

Birth Notes:	I have listed the place of birth as Tennessee because I found a "selective service" document on ancestry.com. (It is attached in the list of images.) It lists a Buford Bratcher, born in 1836, living in Breckinridge County, KY. I see no reason why this is not my great great grandfather. This also makes some sense to me, because I have often believed that the Bratcher family that settled in Breckinridge County, KY, came from Tennessee.
