That one says Bessie, but appears to have "Mary" inserted before it. This "Mary Bessie" was born in 1882. The other Bessie was listed in a record dated 1915. Her date of birth is shown as September 25, 1904. This record is for the second Bessie.

In Norman Whobrey's pension application, where he is listing his children, there is a statement that says, "The dates not given of birth and deaths above our house and record were all blown away by cyclone in 1902."
There is also a cryptic note that says, "We have forgotten children by second wife." Norman appears to have only been married twice. The first wife was Malinda Deweese and the second was Emer Daffron. The odd thing about this statement is that Esley, Bessie, Grace, Phlemon, Thurman, and May appear to have been the children of Emer Daffron, his second wife.
